The month has passed, and how many things have happened! Human minds need distance in order to recognise the passage of time, and therefore all things on earth have such indications. Time is often measured by a century, by a year, by seasons, by months, by weeks, and by days, and then by the hour, minute, or second. Yet time moves on, moment to moment, in a way that cannot be realised or appreciated by the worldly. This constant motion of time is recognised by the Enlightened Ones as ‘the flow of time’, which brings about momentary changes to all existential things, which are always in ‘a state of flux’. Therefore, time, in reality, needs no measurement and cannot be defined!

UPHOLDING THE FIVE PRECEPTS IN DAILY LIFE

OM MANI PADME HUM
Serious practitioners of the Path will have to repeat the Five Precepts daily and do their utmost to uphold them. Those who have found meaning in these teachings over the years should be ready to observe these precepts, for they are an essential part of cultivation. All Buddhists must uphold these practices; otherwise, the chances of success in attaining a pure state of mind are rare.
