How often you see those who have such nice personalities and yet when they begin to speak, they hurt your ears, disappoint your judgement, and cause you to be so restless that you would rather be anywhere else but with such people. Yet how well do you know yourself that you do not belong to this category of people. Reflect a little and see if you have always been truthful, humble, and careful with your speech, whether your words are sweet and pleasant or whether you are an idle chatter whose words are often offensive to your listeners. Karma of the mouth is committed each day without one being aware of it, so that loose talk becomes a habit. A single word can do unimaginable harm; can hurt others much deeper than with a knife.
Be a man of peace. Speak less and when having to do so, speak with the right choice of words which are not elusive and tinged with meanings that cause doubt and unpleasantness to arise. Watch your words and you will be watching your mind. Being careless with whatever you say, it is proof that your mind is unclear. Do not always find faults with what others say, listen and then phrase your answers well, or did you not say things which were hurtful that might cause others to repay you in kind? Watch your mind then, watch your mouth.
