OM MANI PADME HUM
The suffering ones are many, too many, countless! The suffering ones are those who need help in all ways. All ways will mean that those who are able to give them some help will do so according to their abilities, according to their specialities, according to their hearts. There is much to do for these people and yet how many times have the good offers to help been fruitless? How helpless the helpers! How impossible life is! How sad is this world! But there is no way to give up, to reject them, for with wisdom you will realise that you too have suffered so much in past lives and have received help from other kindly beings; that you too may have to suffer in the future in one form or another, and shall help to receive some help too?
Let this human suffering be a lesson to gain from. Let it stir your heart to new directions of purity causing you to put forth new energy to win the will to give your sincere help at any moment of time. For the ones that you have extended your helping hands may have been your past benefactors, your past related and dear ones; for the hands that you are extending may yet bring some joy and hope to a few of the many and they too may have been dear to you in the distant past, for the hands that you will be extending may be blessed by your kind deeds to bring relief to many of the numerous who may have been close to your heart in previous incarnations!
Help then without any thought of being appreciated! Help for the sake of helping Me do My work. My thousand eyes and hands are daily manifested in the thousands who are serving Me in all directions. It is to represent My care for all, My love for all!
Brothers and sisters of My path shall meet not by accident but by arrangements that shall cause them to meet. But they must be able to recognise each other before they can benefit from each other. And those who are able to work together unselfishly shall bring even greater benefit to the suffering ones. It is the mind that My disciples must cleanse, must calm, must control, must understand. Those who do not seek to know their minds will never be able to do any work for Me, for they shall seek from without that which can only be found from within! Only when the mind is in harmony with the body may anyone be really of help to others. Search then, daily, constantly, to know your mind! To purify the mind!
When you are able to do work out of the ordinary, you are picked up by Me from the many who are of good intentions and have the desire to work towards relieving the sufferings of fellow beings! It is but the first step in the directions of the Bodhisattva vehicle which you must travel. The journey shall be long, shall be mysterious, shall be difficult, shall be joyous, shall be fearful, shall be doubtful, shall be rough and smooth, and only those who practise profound wisdom, who practise giving, morality, patience, endeavour, and meditation, may survive this difficult journey. So you, who are My disciples, who have accepted my path on your own accord or are drawn towards it, must practise to steady your mind, must develop faith in yourselves and in Me, must develop compassion and love for all beings! Strive, strive hard to attain the qualities that are necessary to strengthen yourself, so that you will be of some use to Me, to mankind, so that you will be aware of what life is, what life should be, what life must be! The Buddha Nature can only be realised when the heart is bent towards seeking it, towards enlightenment. The keys towards opening the doors to realisation shall be the practise of compassion, vigour and wisdom!
Learn then from the lessons of each day. Be aware of what is around you, of what is within you, so that indolence shall not build a mist around your eyes and your mind! Learn from the experiences of others too and see what you can do to improve yourself, to rid yourself of the qualities which are harmful to your life! This is an act of purification which must be done daily. Prayers too shall be a good cleansing agent! Life shall be good when it is well lived, when it is filled with righteous actions, when it is lived for the sake of fulfilling noble intentions, when each day is treated as another day of cultivation through sincere work and study, when love is in your heart for all beings!
This is the work of all those who are drawn to this altar - whether they are serving or just observing. Apply skillful means and do your part according to your ability, your specialty and your sincerity of the heart. Just by good wishes shall others benefit, just by sincere prayers shall many benefit, just by living a life of goodness shall you benefit society. By your examples, you shall cause others to follow your way. You who sit to serve shall be watched, observed, so there must be strict practice lest your weak mind wavers and bring doubts to many and cause them to be disillusioned!
By your work, suffering will be reduced to the lives of many!
