Being on your knees when you begin to offer homage too should not be treated as an inferior gesture, and greetings between friends and acquaintances in places of worship should be with the gesture of both hands placed palm to palm, which is a sign of respect for each other’s Buddha Nature, for all human beings are ‘Buddhas-to-be’, and a sign of peace and kindness.
