For the happiness of all, you pray for them. For the safety of all, you serve. For the well-being of all, you walk my Path. Practise, then, the virtues that must be practised, but lay stress on the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom, which will lead you to the attainment of the perfections of giving, morality, endeavour, patience, and meditation, as well as other minor virtues. To be able to understand the reasons for taking the Bodhisattva-vehicle, you will need wisdom. You will need to develop this wisdom so that nothing will ever deter you from moving forward on this Path. The sufferings of mankind and all beings throughout the universe are immeasurable, and who could save them if not the Bodhisattvas and their disciples?
This noble task lies in the hands of those who have awakened to the cries of these suffering ones, gaining the wisdom to seek release for themselves so as to be able to perform better work in the future.
