There must always be time for reflection on one’s life and one’s spiritual aspirations. The experiences of life—whether harmonious or discordant—are the awakeners of the mind. Therefore, they are not to be clung to or feared. Each experience provides an opportunity to learn and to gain the wisdom needed to cut off the dualities that keep the mind in delusion. Reflecting on one’s spiritual aspirations helps one draw strength to take up the difficult practice that brings clarity of mind, which is the true goal of life.
