Brighten A Home
BRIGHTEN A HOME

The "Brighten A Home" Programme was mooted in 2009 as an offshoot of the joint community service project with the Psychiatric Wards and Methadone Clinic at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL)....
The first project was planned and implemented mainly by the veteran members of KYCO. The project was a great success which lead to its to be run as another programme within the KYCO-CSP. Over the years the KYCO Youth section which has grown in strength has transitioned into its current role of planning and executing this programme with the able guidances of the Youth Mentors.
The activities were recorded in videos and photos which are shared below. Click on each tab to display more details.
Thye Family
Home of the Thye Family: The CSP-KYCO team and CSP Youths: cleaning and repainting the home of an elderly couple, their three mentally unwell children and their young grandchild. Bringing cheer just in time for Chinese New Year. The elderly father who is the sole bread-winner, is also a heart patient.
Encik Roslan
7th June 2015 - 6th Brighten A Home Project.
Home of Encik Roslan: The Youths of CSP and CSP members refreshed and ushered light into the gloomy home of a physically challenged and widowed 70 year Makcik who looks after her mentally challenged son.
This house is located at Taman Medan, PJS4. The initial / first-stage cleanup was outsourced to a contractor to clear the mess and speed up the work as Hari Raya is drawing nearer. The second-stage cleanup and painting were carried out under the care of the Youth Section with a few aunties and uncles and lead by its Youth head Han and mentor, Jade.
Before
Before - the double storey house was filthy, stinking and infested with hundreds of cockroaches. The pre-painting / first-stage cleanup was outsourced to a contractor whose workers got ride of all the rubbish, feces and cockroaches.
